Chhathi Ceremony

This ceremony is performed when the baby is six days old.

It is a day for praying to Gods for safety and health of baby and mother. In this ritual baby is made to wear new clothes gifted by the aunt. Gifts, sweets and meals are part of this function. Towards the end of process Kajal is applied by aunt to both baby and mother’s eye.

This ceremony was performed for KRISHNA on the sixth day of Janmashtami.
