Girnar
Mount Girnar is situated in Junagadh in Gujrat. It is a beautiful mountain range with natural beauty difficult to express in words. It is an extremely religious place with many temples and is visited frequently by saints & sages. It is abode of many some of them are over hundred years of age.
Girnar is 3666 ft above sea level and to reach the summit one has to climb 10,000 steps. on the way at about 4500 steps is a congregation of Jain temples, the biggest of them is of Sri Neminathji. About 1000 steps or so ahead one sees Gaumukhi Ganga and ahead is the famous temple of Ambaji further to which is Baba Gorakhnathji dhuna.
The peak of the Girnar mountains hosts our lord Dattatrey, Guru of all saints & siddhs. Girnar is said to host 9 naths & 84 siddhs. A few steps down is a “chetan dhuna of Lord Dattatreya which lightsup on its own for about an hour on every monday. Bhandara is served here after which the descend of Girnar begins.
This is a tough journey but a memorable one.
